Koch Powertone III head / Koch KCC412 cabThe Powertone III is the successor of our Powertone I and II amps. Our Powertone amplifiers have always been popular among heavy rock & metal guitar players from all over the world. When developing the Powertone III we wanted to preserve the best features of its predecessors and improve on the original design. We added several new features such as a Drive control on the Clean channel, an OTS © circuit, Depth and Presence controls, switchable dual Master volume controls, two serial or parallel FX loops which can be bypassed and remote MIDI control of all switchable functions.
The Powertone III is available in a 50Watts or 100Watts version. Depending on the output power, the power section features either two or four EL34 Power tubes. In order to accommodate a Koch speaker cabinet or any other extension cabinet, the back panel of the Powertone III features five speaker output jacks for connecting 4, 8 or 16 ohm speaker cabinets. Channel-1 offers a wide variety of sounds from sparkling cleans with tons of headroom all the way through moderately overdriven sounds. With the added Drive control Channel-1 offers a greater variety of tones while preserving the wonderful warm and crystal clear tone of the Powertone I and II. The ‘Distortion’ channel –Channel 2– has been re-voiced to a unique American style character. The high-gain and ultrahigh-gain tones will now give you a tighter, more complex and harmonically rich sound with lots of definition, depth and of course tons of power. Another new feature on the Powertone III is the OTS circuit. The OTS circuit is a little tube amp that can be overdriven to create real power amp distortion at any volume level. With the OTS Drive control you can add a great sounding tube saturation to both Channel 1 & 2 while the OTS Volume control allows you to boost (or cut) your volume. The OTS circuit should be considered as an on-board effect unit which you can turn-on or bypass with the footswitch. With these two channels and OTS circuit you can create any sound you have always been dreaming of. From pristine clean tones all the way through to exciting high-gain tones with infinite sustain the Powertone III will amaze you. The Powertone-III also features two separate switchable Master Volumes. With the footswitch you can switch from Rhythm to Solo volume giving you more power to make sure your solos will always be heard. In order to create a more authentic sparkle and to allow the Presence control to operate on both the Clean and the Gain channels we’ve relocated the Presence control to the power amp section. In addition to that, the new Depth control gives you an incredible boost in the low end. The two effects loops on the back panel offer you the possibility to connect your effects unit in series or parallel. Both loops can be bypassed with an FS2 footswitch or a MIDI switcher. The other functions: Channel 1 & 2, Gain Boost, OTS on/off, Master I and II can all be switched by the included FS4 Footswitch. All these functions can also be accessed by a MIDI switcher via two separate jack inputs to allow maximum flexibility when e.g. integrating the amp in a rack system. For both Live and Recording situations we’ve included a Recording/PA direct output on the back panel of the amp. The Recording/PA output offers you a Speaker Emulated sound coming from a microphone placed in front of your speaker cabinet. |
Koch 63'OD / SuperleadThe Superlead guitar preamp is as much at home in your rehearsal room as it is in the studio or on-stage. Whether used as a stand-alone preamp, or in conjunction with your pedalboard, your guitar signal can be routed to any amplification device, recording or mixing console as well as to any monitor system you are using. The Superlead has two independent channels (Clean & Overdrive) which share a 3 band EQ, plus a Boost switch for high gain. The Clean channel is focused on clarity and full frequency response to accurately reproduce your guitar's tone. The Overdrive channel fattens that sound with a lush contemporary gain that can be stepped up to high gain with the Boost switch, for flat out chunk or those singing leads with almost endless sustain.....taking you from the pop world to hard-rock with a couple of silent switches.
The Koch Superlead also features both pre and post FX loops for adding tone shaping pedals before the pre-amp, and modulating pedals after the pre-amp. There is a 9VDC output that can power those additional pedals up to 200 mA, and is fully protected against short-circuit. The remote control input can be used with midi switchers or other external switching devices. Finally, there is a balanced XLR DI output with line level signal, speaker emulation and ground-lift for connection to recording or mixing consoles, and a 1/4" output with switch-able levels for connection to any type of amp or monitor. Both outputs can be used simultaneously. The Koch Superlead is the perfect tube powered preamp for rehearsal, recording, touring and fly-ins where you need to take 'your sound' with you. We use only the highest grade components for the best sound and reliability, plus we have housed the Superlead in a heavy duty, yet light weight aluminum housing. |
Koch Loadbox LB120 IIThis innovative ‘multi-tool’ should be found in every serious guitar players’ kit, as a solution to many possible situations. We understand that quality, tone and clarity are important to guitar players, so by creating the Loadbox with extra heavy duty components, stainless steel housing and a host of features, we believe that we have met those criteria. As a straight output power attenuator, the Loadbox can handle a continuous 120 watts at any of 7 output levels with unparalleled clarity and without loss of tone. The user also has the choice of various outputs to channel the attenuated signal through…single or multiple cabinets (depending on impedance), padded or non-padded direct outputs, a transformer balanced XLR DI output and line output for PA/Recording which both share voicing switches for microphone placement and cabinet style.
The Loadbox can also be used as a straight transformer balanced DI, or to convert almost any amp into a headphone amp for rehearsing. Whether recording, performing or rehearsing, let your amp run at its fattest juiciest and loudest level….and use the Loadbox to tame the output to a user friendly volume. The LB120 Loadbox II is available in a 4, 8 or 16ohm version. |
